RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):

* Interprets and reports all imaging
studies done at Peebles Hospital and
any other government or private
facilities by agreement
* Participates and leads in clinical
training and on-going education
regarding imaging and imaging
* Ensures imaging equipment is working
and maintained to meet International
standards of safety
* Ensures that all members of staff
working in the department are
monitored to prevent levels of
exposure to dangerous radiation

* Provides reports as necessary to
supervisor regarding any aspect of
functioning within the department

* Prepares reports in a timely manner to
help guide the management of patients
in major emergencies.

* Designs and monitors protocols to
ensure best quality examination and
the safety of patients undergoing
imaging examinations

* Ensures that the department is
equipped to deal with all medical
emergencies, allergic reactions etc.
which may develop while patients are
in the department.

* Provides guidance in the development
of new services and in the

* Performs such other job-related duties
as may be assigned.


* Degree, diploma, membership or
fellowship in radiology from a
recognized institution or credentialing

* 3 to 5 years postgraduate experience
in diagnostic imaging and should
cover modalities of general X-rays,
mammography, CT scan and

* Experience in
procedures performed using imaging
techniques gained at recognized and
accredited postgraduate training

* Willingness to take on clinical
management staff training and
development responsibility.
